About John Marc

From the early age of 6, a naive interest drew me to a relationship with God. However, my faith was forged in my teenage years when I had to learn that dependence on a Savior was the only way to find freedom from sin.

I come from a musical family with a history of harmonizing, songwriting, and critiquing national anthem performances. But the most fulfilling musical moments in my life were when I used my gifts for the Church. After graduating from Texas A&M with a marketing degree and getting married to my beautiful wife, Lila, I spent several years as a worship leader and contract musician. I partnered with various churches and ministries, eventually becoming an artist for a record label. I’m grateful for all the diverse experiences I had leading worship in all of those different contexts, but what I’m most excited about now is worship in the local Church.

My Hope for Citizens Church

My hope for Citizens Church is that our worship will deepen beyond the stage on Sunday mornings and become part of every moment of our daily lives. I pray we become dedicated followers of Jesus, inviting others to join in living for the kingdom of Heaven here on earth.
